The Circus

The circus was origanaly a roman develepment, using horse and chariot races. Our modren circus would be much, much different. in the past, the circus was held in an oval.  In Rome, the arenas were usually open-air. Meanwile, in modren times, it had jugglers, clowns and the famous flying trapise! After the fall of rome, the performers traveled from town to town, from show to show, by wagon to preform their craft. P.T. Barnum came in at the 1800’s, and founded the circus that would one day become part of the Ringling Bros. Circus. After the deaths of Barnum and Bailey, the shows plummeted, allowing the Ringling Bros. to purchese the show. So, as a result, it is called the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. The circus may live on.
